Bring in the clowns!

Now Listening To: I Stand Alone - Godsmack
Now Drinking: Tea

Well, the rest of the shooter team's finally arrived in-country yesterday, which means that the logistics people are here as well! Yay!  Less workload for me at last! But now I'm reminded why I really don't like hanging around some of the shooters. Don't get me wrong, it's fun trying to stop Yitzhak from tryin to eat his handload powder, and Hilles is just a fun guy to be around, but some of these people...

I think the best examples would probably be Sadie and, uh, Vassily. Those two seriously creep me out. Serious mental problems if you ask me. Sadie's okay to be around, I guess. Sort of like what happens if you give a kid a few ounces of crack and a loaded gun. Chandy keeps her under control for the most part, but you can't help but feel a little anxious whenever she shows up with that smile of hers. I miss the days where daddy's girls weren;t crackshots with large-caliber rifles.

But I guess I shouldn't be complaining. Not with Vassily. I figure the two are probably the same age, probably explaining why they hang around each other. Sadie's a psycho, but this dude seriously gives me the heebie jeebies. It's like his face never moves. I've seen him smile once or twice, but they're not actual smiles. You never see it reach his eyes. He's a fucking monster. I heard from York that he's Chandy's Sword of Damocles. You try to fuck around with Chandy, Vassily gets sicced on you. Rocks fall, you and everyone even vaguely connected to you die.

But hey, at least Haru's here. That's always the bright spot in the day...

All tuckered out

Now Listening To: Anarchy in the U.K. - The Sex Pistols
Now Drinking: Whiskey in a jar!

I'll keep this short since I'm so fucking tired rihgt now. Been a busy few days with the team gettings a lay of the land. had to terat a few grazes since Doc's not set up yet. Had skinnies on the wire all day, eating up our ammo. Sadie showed up today with York and Crazy Yitzhak. Good to have some help around camp geting set up, but Sadie still creeps the fuck out of me.

As a sidenote, Blackhawk needs some better quality control. Same with Remmy.

Whiskey *is* a food group, dammit!

Now Listening To: Whatever - Godsmack
Now Drinking: Jack Daniels Blue Label

Well we got the camp set up in record time so I got the rest of the day off. Not much left in it anyway. The racks were annoying as hell to put up right, but hey, better than cooking in the sun, aye? The airport's really pretty, you know, barring the occasional mortar attack. But that's the Ugandans' problem. Not ours. Yep. You read that right. We've been sent to Somalia. Fucking weird, too.I saw some shooter types at the airport, the organized type. What're we doing here? I mean, I can get Chandy doing a favor for someone, but we're not really a peacekeeping sort of group.

And in related news, we finally got a shipment of 7.62 and 9x39. Pricey as hell. I'm wondering who it's for? Chandy's kid prefers that NTW clone, and the rest of the team's using 308. What the hell're we going to do with that shit?

Now Listening To: Superstar - S.H.E.
Now Drinking: Tea brewed with Water Joe

It's great to get out of the rain every once in a while, but some days I wonder if the boss just likes making us suffer. I mean, Africa? Come on! I mean, i signed the contract, but shit, this is just ridiculous! But hey, if I wanted a "normal" job, I should've stayed home, amirite guys? We're prolly going to only need a few hours to unpack when we get there, but I fig the Africans are going ot get all up in our face and stretch it out further. At least there'll be running water. Can't say I'm going to dig the cuisine, though.

On the brighter side, we got a fresh shipment of parts today. I love that smell of cosmoline that comes iwth the parts. Scrubbing's a bitch, though. Somedays I wonder if we're rooting through old Soviet stock for this stuff. There's shit there that couldn't have seen the light of day for decades. I found stampings dating back to the Korean War and shit like that. Well, it's a history lesson, I guess. Lando caught a stomachful of bolt a few days back, so I'm in charge until the bruising goes away. Yeah. Me and nobody to boss around. I hipe we can get some fresh meat soon in logistical.

Well, caffiene's wearing off and I'm leaving tomorrow. GunneryGrrl be knocking off for the night. Or is it day? I freaking hate working out of home base...
